DNC chair to visit So Fla

In a sign of the Democratic party's concern about turnout in a crucial battleground state, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine will visit South Florida on Friday and Saturday.

Joined by Senate nominee Kendrick Meek and congressional candidate Joe Garcia, Kaine will speak Friday at the Homestead campus of Miami Dade College. He will also meet with Democratic activists in Miami-Dade and Broward and visit a phone bank on Saturday.

The national party has transfered more than $1.2 million to the Florida Democratic Party as it tries to make inroads in GOP-dominated Tallahassee.
