Florida Medical Association endorses Rick Scott

The Florida Medical Association, the state's premier doctor lobby, is about to endorse Republican Rick Scott. Quite a medical coup for the former health executive, who ruffled loads of feathers in the 1990s when he headed the Columbia/HCA hospital chain to the cheers of some docs and the opposition of others.

A few FMA-affiliated docs aren't so happy and say they're going to form a Doctors For Sink group. While that's all good and well, the FMA endorsement is bad news for Sink if the group opens up its political arm, People for a Better Florida, which sometimes takes the opposite approach of the hippocratic oath in campaigns: First, Do Much Harm.
