The latest spat in the oh-so-heated congressional race between Democrat Joe Garcia and Republican David Rivera has come over a flier mailed to voters by a Tallahassee-based electioneering committee.
The group, named Voters Response and already the target of a complaint filed by a Garcia supporter, sent out a mailer with photos of Garcia and House Speaker and frequent Republican target Nancy Pelosi -- and with Garcia's personal cell phone number, urging voters to call him to say they don't trust Garcia or Pelosi (the phone number is blacked out in the version of the mailer we have posted here).
"David Rivera must call on David Ramba [who heads Voters Response] to immediately desist and issue an apology for distributing Joe Garcia's personal phone number, as well as for flatly deceiving voters," Garcia's campaign wrote in a statement.
The flier also talks about Garcia raising utility rates, but it cites a South Florida Sun-Sentinel story from 1991, three years before Garcia was appointed to the Florida Public Service Commission. A previous claim by Rivera's campaign about supposed rate hikes during Garcia's tenure at the PSC has been rated false by our friends at PolitiFact.

I love Voters Response. If you follow their money trail, almost all of it comes from another ECO called Mainstream Democrats. But if you look at their donors, you quickly discover they aren't Democrats.
