Music school in Haiti to be showcased at the White House

A music school in Jacmel, Haiti will be among the honorees Wednesday at a White House event hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama. The Jean Baptiste Dessaix Music School is one of 15 programs that reach underserved youth to be awarded a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award -- the highest honor in the field.

The First Lady -- honorary chair of the president’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities -- will talk about after-school and out-of-school arts and humanities education.
