President Obama and Joe Garcia stop for Cuban burgers

After a $1 million fundraiser what are you going to do? If you're President Barack Obama why not a few Cuban hamburgers?

Post reception and dinner, Obama and congressional hopeful Joe Garcia -- a former executive director of the Cuban American National Foundation and former Obama administration Energy Department official  -- stopped at Calle Ocho's El Mago De Las Frita, famed for its Cuban burger with chorizo sausage and fries.

The president talked with a pair of diners, his sleeves rolled up as Enrique Iglesias' hit "I Like It'' played on the radio. He He introduced cook/owner Ortello Cardenas as the "magician," and ordered five of the burgers, joking that First Lady Michelle Obama -- who champions healthy eating -- shouldn't learn about the stop.

The election is about the BUSH tax cuts. With the President vowing not to sign legislation which include extention of tax rollbacks for the upper earners and the Republicans unwilling to compromise, voting for a republican means an imminent tax increase.Secondly, both governors elected on the republican agenda,New Jersey and California, policies have been largely pay cuts, layoffs, higher fees and lost of benefits of average workers, especially teachers. Most average republican supporters have been shocked when the rhetoric translated into actual proposals.

I hope they get indigestion.

Great to see President Barack Obama in town. I feel so proud that we elected this intelligent soft spoken man. I support him 100% and will do anything it takes to get him relected.

Well, he promised change...where is it?
He promise transperancy in government...but forgot to tell Pelosi & Reid
Promised unemployment won't go over 8% if the bail out is approved...we are now at 9.6% and climbing.
The eloquent, soft spoken, pro latino Senator from Illinois has done NOTHING about the 12 Million illegal immigrants in this country.
Let's face it he eloquently promised every one what they wanted but has done NOTHING.
I'm voting against President Obama in 2012!

john

Imam obamarx is really an incompetent, deceptive, pathologically narcissistic man entranced by an evil ideology that has left a trail of unprecedented misery and death for 100 years.

A true jackass!

I support the President and the incredible job he has done in keeping the US from going over the edge financially. I'm not a fan of alot of those in Congress or the Senate who brough us to the brink of economic collapse. The financial industry cannot be trusted to self-regulate, nor can the oil indusitry, mining industry - insurance, health etc etc -- it's absurd that Republicans continue to call for less regulation when we have the evidence all around us of what less regulation results in. God save the United States of America 'cause apparently the ignorant voting public are easily fooled in the name of JC.

E Diaz Jr.

Wow.... he promised HC and all that. The people didn't want it, or did you not see the demonstrations. The first president to go against the will of the people. Obama has no backbone. All of the people in D.C. forget that they are accountable to us. At every level of business there is accountability. It is not enough to say "oh well we won't vote them in again". That means that 4 or 6 years are wasted. We need accountability in government now.

Give the man a break, Obama is the hardest working President ever. America did not get in this situation overnight and it won't be solved overnight.

So True KF! It took GW Bush aka Dubya 8 years to destroy America with hus dual wars, Huge tax Cuts, Unfunded mandates such as Two Wars, Huge Taxcuts, Medicare Part D Drug plan, aftermath of 9/11(of which was warned of and he failed to act). It'll take us years to dig out of the Disasterous Hole Bush left us in.

I'm extremely proud of our President and the work that he has done thus far. I echo a statement that was posted previously by KF. People, we have to remember that President Obama has only been in office for 18 months. GW took us to the pitts of hell in 8 years, at least give this man a chance to continue to bring us out. Its impossible to undo everything over night that took years to get us to that point. he is a remarkable President

Imagine this: The Republicans drove a bus into a ditch and got stuck. Along came the Democrats, rendered help and pulled the bus out of the ditch and put it back on the road. Now the Republicans are requesting to get back into the bus to take control of it again. People, this a a no brainer!!!!!!Hell to the No!!!!!!Let stay of the right track.

He promised change but at the end of the day he was a politician and has brought some change to this country. He was largely elected for his policies and political ideology. He ran on health care reform and got momentous legislation passed, he ran on financial reform and delivered, he saved the auto industry, the student loan and education reform has been momentous, our economy started growing again, we didn't go into an imminent depression, we started losing fewer jobs and in Iraq and Afghanistan we are exactly where he campaigned on.
You ideologues can continue your online banter on how horrible it is, but you look silly. We still have high unemployment and Obama manages to have an approval rating on the verge of 50% during a midterm election. That's good stuff. It apparently bears to repeat that unemployment is a lagging figure and will take time.

It's revolting to see how much sh*t the Republican creeps write! But even more revolting is what I saw today: An email from the Republican Party directed to Cubans, telling them that since Obama was inaugurated he's deported 100,000 illegals. I wonder what it is they're trying to do? In fact, THEY should be very happy that President Obama is doing exactly what they have proposed. The problem is that not even the Republicans believe their own b*llsh*t!

arale norimaki

last time i remember this was America not cuba. what a f*cking joke kissing their @sses. Are you the cuban president or the cuban president obama?
