Apologies to Sid Dinerstein for repeating an item in SaintPetersblog without first checking with him. (Peter Schorsch's blog has since been updated.) Dinerstein sent out the following email to RPOF members this morning after reading headlines about him:
Dear RPOF Friends:
I DID NOT DO THAT MAILER!!!
It is very disheartening to see my name in a headline assuming I put out an anonymous “hit” piece on fellow RPOF members, especially since the reporter never called.
I received this mailer yesterday, postmarked Daytona Beach, hundreds of miles from my home. I do not donate to candidates to brag. I donate because my family has been very blessed and we are able to promote the candidates and the causes we believe in.
There is a lesson to be learned from this experience. I pledge: “If at any time during this Chairman’s campaign I think another candidate has acted or spoken inappropriately, I will call him or her BEFORE putting out a statewide blast.”
