Republican Allen West is leading about 55 percent to 45 percent over Democrat Ron Klein. As of 10:30 p.m., about 80 percent of precincts counted in the Broward side of the Congressional 22 district and less than one-third of precincts counted on the Palm Beach side -- but he is comfortably ahead in both counties.
While awaiting final results at a hotel in Boca Raton Klein said "this is an election year with a big backlash."
