Election set to replace Frederica Wilson

The state has set election dates for voters to choose a new state senator to replace U.S. Rep.-elect Frederica Wilson.

A Feb. 8 primary will be followed by a March 1 election -- right before the legislative session begins March 8.

Several candidates, including state Rep. Oscar Braynon II and former state Rep. Phillip Brutus, have already filed to vie for the seat being vacated by Wilson, whose resignation is effective Dec. 31.
