Florida's John Mica to head up House transportation committee

Good news for transportation projects in Florida: Orlando area Republican Rep. John Mica will head up the House committee that oversees U.S. transportation projects -- and dollars -- starting in January. Mica says he'll be the state's first full transportation committee chair.

"Today, our government, elected leaders, and Americans everywhere have no choice but to do more with less," Mica said. "This will also be the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s mandate."
