Florida's Dennis Ross promises to focus on cuts to federal payroll

The Washington Post reports that the freshman Republican -- who succeeded Adam Putnam -- has been named chair of the House subcommittee on federal workers and the U.S. Postal Service -- and is promising that he'll "focus first on potential cuts to the federal payroll."

Ross told the Post that he proposed trimming the federal payroll through pay freezes or attrition during the campaign.
