Republican Rick Scott became Florida's 45th governor Tuesday at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday, completing his improbable journey from millionaire hospital executive to chief officer of the nation's fourth largest state.
"At least we have good weather,'' he said, referring to the mild, cloud-speckled morning.
His voice hoarse, he launched into his frequent campaign promise in a 15-minute
speech, ending with his call "Let's get to work.''
Scott, 58, said he grew up with a father who was often laid off and for that reason, "for me, job creation is an absolute mission.'' More here.
