Roll Call reports the Miami Republican is among a group of lawmakers selected by Sen. John Cornyn to lead an "expanded portfolio of National Republican Senatorial Committee fundraising programs for the 2012 election cycle."
It's the group that first backed Rubio's Republican primary rival, Charlie Crist, but pulled the endorsement after Crist bolted the Republican party.
The story notes that Rubio along with freshmen senators Roy Blunt, Mo., and Pat Toomey, Penn., will co-chair one of three regional groups responsible for fundraising in a third of the 50 states.

Looks like Rubio is making friends quickly in D.C.
