Gov. Rick Scott will not endorse President Obama's plan to help states crushed by unemployment insurance debt.
"We’re perceiving it as another Band-aid or short-term fix when it’s a real problem that need a more thoughtful and longer term solution," Brian Hughes said, adding the governor has not seen a detailed proposal.
Under Obama's plan, Florida would not have to pay back between $400 million and $500 million in jobless insurance debt owed to the federal government over the next two years. (background here)
