And then there were 24....

Mike Bennett is the latest Senator to officially withdraw his name from a letter chastising Rick Scott for the manner in which he rejected the federal high speed rail money. The missive originally had 26 signatures on it, a veto-proof majority. But then Greg Evers withdrew his name. And now comes Bennett. In letters sent to Scott and LaHood, Bennett said he thought the letter was merely a reminder to Scott of the separation of powers. 

"I am afraid that my signature on this letter has been misconstrued as support for a High Speed Rail project in Florida," Bennett wrote to Scott. He also told the governor he does not support the lawsuit filed by Senators Thad Altman and Arthenia Joyner against him in the Florida Supreme Court, calling it "misguided."
