Red State chief backs Adam Hasner

Not really good news for Senate President Mike Haridopolos or former Sen. George LeMieux. From Red State's Erick Erickson is going with Adam Hasner

There are a lot of important Senate races shaping up in 2012 and my strong fear is that many tea party activists are going to be so focused on beating Barack Obama — a worthy cause — that they are going to drop the ball on Senate races.

I have not really weighed in yet on endorsing any candidates for the United States Senate, but with an every growing pool of potential candidates in the Florida Senate race, I want to go on record now supporting Adam Hasner.

Former Senator George LeCrist, hand picked by Charlie Crist to keep his seat warm, is running as are several others. I think conservatives need to be wary of many of them and we cannot afford to take Florida for granted as a Republican state.

Adam Hasner has, I think, the best background and most conservative record to run in Florida. I hope you will join me in supporting him. We cannot afford to lose Florida to either the Democrats, or the squishy Republicans.

I'd hope he didn't mean to include Haridopolos as one of those 'squishy Republicans'. Though having just one running in George LeMieux is more than I can stand as it is. Best of luck to Adam, but Haridop is doing a good job right now, and has Nelson freaked out more than ever. That's a good thing.

Cynical Idealist

Frankly, as much as Bill Nelson is an empty suit, all of the republicans currently running are "squishy" and none deserve to win simply because they're R's and not Bill Nelson. You shouldn't be able to win if you're a wuss, just because you're an R. I can't help but wonder if Hasner will resort to using the mo-ped shtick that worked so well for him in '02. It'll get him around the state quite well on the shoestring budget his campaign will have...

dude, really? a mo-ped? that's hilarious. he'll lock down that eco-friendly vote for sure. a lot good that'll do in the GOP primary lol.
