Florida Democrats raising money off Jacksonville mayoral stunner

With a Democrat leading the mayoral race in Jacksonville by 603 votes amid an expected recount, Florida Democrats are doing the happy dance -- and asking for campaign contributions to "make sure every ballot gets counted."

Florida Democratic Party executive director Scott Arceneaux notes that if Alvin Brown's lead holds, "for the first time in about 20 years, Jacksonville will send a Democrat to the Mayor’s Office."

Brown leads Republican Mike Hogan by 603 votes, with about 1,200 absentee and provisional ballots to be counted. The canvassing board began meeting at 9 today and is currently counting.
