U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio's mother fell ill last night, prompting the senator to cancel events today in Lakeland and Orlando.
"Senator Rubio's mother suffered a stroke two weeks ago. Over the last 48 hours, she has experienced additional setbacks that require Senator Rubio to remain in Miami with her," said a statement from his office. The senator's father passed away last year during his campaign.

I wish the best for Rubio's mother but I think Little Marco is learning the hard way you can't throw your elderly parents under the bus in exchange for advancing a radical rightwing extremist viewpoint (Rubio wants to get rid of SS and medicare).
God has a way of putting things in perspective.

I wish Marco Rubio's mom the very best and I'm glad he is able to be with her. Maybe Senator Rubio will begin to understand the importance of the Medicare he voted against....

Debbie & Buckeye One, now is not the time for political posturing. You two lack class!

I am certainly glad that Marco is our Senator and not Debbie & Buckeye - I agree with you CB, they have no class and even less, they have no heart!!

Senator Rubio: My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother in your time of need. May our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, cradle her in His healing arms and return her to you fully healed. I, also, pray that He will grant me time to see you as President of the United States of America.
