ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The American Conservative Union (ACU) today announced Florida Governor Rick Scott and Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll will address CPAC FL – the organization’s first in an inaugural series of regional events expanding on the legacy of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). CPAC FL will be held this month in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, September 23, 2011. Additionally, the ACU today announced the full CPAC FL agenda is now available at: http://cpacfl.conservative.org.
“In less than a year on the job, Rick Scott has made good on his promises to Floridians, lowering taxes, reducing government spending and promoting economic development in the Sunshine State. Under the leadership of Governor Rick Scott and Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll, Florida is implementing pro-growth policies to accelerate job creation, standing in stark contrast to President Obama’s liberal agenda – one that has failed our economy and our country,” said ACU Chairman Al Cardenas. “The ACU is honored to host our first regional CPAC in the critical state of Florida and highlight the State’s conservative leaders.”
Just like the ACU’s marquee gathering in Washington, DC every spring – the nation’s largest annual gathering of grassroots activists – CPAC FL will bring national and state conservative leaders and grassroots activists together for a day of blockbuster speeches, policy discussions and networking opportunities – all celebrating the shared principles of smaller government, a strong national defense and traditional values. The full list of speakers and panel presentations is now available online at http://cpacfl.conservative.org.
Located in the South Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, confirmed speakers also include all ten leading Republican presidential candidates, ACU Chairman Cardenas, bestselling author Ann Coulter, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, members of the Florida Cabinet and leaders of the Florida Legislature and conservative leaders like former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, S.E. Cupp, Bill Kristol, Grover Norquist, Ralph Reed and former U.S. Senator Jim Talent (R – MO).
The American Conservative Union is America’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization and was founded in 1964. The ACU has hosted CPAC in the Nation’s capital since 1974.
