President Barack Obama is appointing Katrina L. Peebles to the President's Advisory Committee on Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the White House said Tuesday.
Peebles is the wife of Florida real estate developer Don Peebles, who sits on Obama's national finance committee. The couple in August hosted a $15,000-a-plate fundraiser at their Washington D.C. home for the Obama Victory Fund.
Her White House-provided bio notes that she serves on the board of directors of The Peebles Corporation. Peebles also is a board member of The Vizcayans, which oversees the preservation and advancement of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami. She's a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder.
