Rick Perry's P5 pledges, the Tallahassee edition...

From a press release:

Leon County Republican State Committeeman Jeff Howell, County Party Chairman Bradley Maxwell, and Vice-Chairman Evan Power pledge to vote for Rick Perry in the Presidency 5 Straw poll.

“This is a crucial election which calls for a bold candidate who can clearly articulate Conservative solutions to a nation in the grip of high unemployment and the worst economy in three decades” noted State Committeeman Jeff Howell.  Announcing his pledge Howell observed“Rick Perry has an exceptional record as the Governor of Texas leading the nation in lowering taxes and balancing budgets.  At this time we need a Conservative leader who is prepared to lead and not just give lip service to the problems that face America.”

Chairman Bradley Maxwell felt that Governor Rick Perry was the most prepared to lead by saying, "Governor Perry stands out among a great field of Republicans as the candidate with experience not simply pointing out the problems but of applying Conservative principles to solving them. A confident and optimistic leader, Perry's faith in the American people stands in stark contrast to the current President's single-minded focus on government as the solution to our problems."

Vice-Chairman Evan Power said, “Governor Perry’s unique record of creating jobs while keeping taxes low should give him a special place in this field of candidates.  The Governor has created a track record of job creation that is unprecedented in the current economic climate, while not insisting on higher taxes or increased government spending.   Texas is a model of what greatness can be achieved if we focus on giving Americans opportunities, not the American Government the opportunity to spend money we have to borrow from foreign countries.”
