Shalala compares UM to Notre Dame and Stanford. Say what?

After the news broke that a Ponzi schemer said he had lavished gifts on University of Miami football players, UM President Donna Shalala tried to steer the story toward the university's accomplishments.

But when she claimed that "nationally the academic achievements of our student-athletes are mentioned in the same breath and spirit as Notre Dame and Stanford" we wondered if that was true or spin. PolitiFact's Truth-O-Meter decided to tackle the question and found that comparing student athletes was no easy feat.

Well, I'm sure that UM's academics are garbage when compared to MACALESTER COLLEGE. Give me a break, a "Hidden Ivy"? It's a pathetic school that pays the bills by admitting MASSIVE numbers of foreign students.
