RPOF ADDS TO COMMUNICATIONS TEAM ON EVE OF ELECTION YEAR

With the 2012 elections approaching, the Republican Party of Florida has bolstered its communications staff with the promotion of Kristen McDonald and addition of Dan Dawson.

Kristen McDonald, who was serving as a communications assistant, will now be RPOF’s Press Secretary. In early 2011, McDonald completed a six-month internship in the Communications Office of Governor Rick Scott. In July, McDonald joined RPOF as an assistant in party’s communications operation. McDonald is a cum laude graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.  She earned a Master’s degree in Applied American Politics and Policy this August. As press secretary she will work with the Communications Director to develop RPOF’s strategic messaging and will serve as a spokeswoman for the party.

Dan Dawson joins the RPOF staff as New Media Director. Previously, he served on Jeff Atwater’s successful CFO campaign as his Travel Aide and New Media Director. Following the CFO’s victory, Dawson started his own consultancy business. In 2011, he was hired to run the War Room in Orlando for the Huntsman for President Campaign. Dawson graduated from Florida State University with Dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship and received a Master’s in Applied American Politics and Policy. In his new role, Dawson will develop video and multimedia content for a variety of social networking platforms to share RPOF’s vision for Florida.
