Former Jon Huntsman campaign manager, Susie Wiles, signs up with Mitt Romney

Susie Wiles, the former campaign manager for Republican Jon Huntsman, has now gone to team Mitt Romney. It's a bit of a coup for Romney and a reversal of sorts for Wiles, who was one of a number of top-level Huntsman staffers to leave amid the controversial leadership of Huntsman adviser John Weaver.

Wiles said this is nothing personal. She has known Huntsman for years. And she respects him. But, like many Republicans, Wiles believes Huntsman can't win in a primary. But Romney can, she says.

"I've watched the love affair with various candidates and I'm convinced Romney has the temperament, the values and the experience to take on President Obama. And I don't think anybody else does," said Wiles, a Jacksonville-based consultant and former campaign chief for Gov. Rick Scott.

From a press release:

Boston, MA – Mitt Romney today announced the endorsement of Florida political leader Susie Wiles. Wiles will serve as a Co-Chair of Romney for President’s Florida Advisory Council.

“On the issues that I have been fighting for in my campaign, Susie has been a leader and advocate in Florida and across the country for years,” said Mitt Romney. “The addition of Susie to my Florida campaign adds to a growing and strong campaign team. With her support and the hard work of my Florida team, we will defeat President Obama, fix our nation’s economy, stop the growth of government, and bring jobs back to Florida. I am proud to have her support.”

Announcing her support, Susie Wiles said, “As this campaign has progressed, I have had an opportunity to observe each of the candidates and it is clear to me that one candidate stands out from the rest: Mitt Romney.  Governor Romney is a conservative businessman who knows what it takes to turn our economy around.  He has demonstrated the stability, intellect and integrity that Republicans are looking for in their standard bearer. And perhaps most importantly, he will take the battle to President Obama's doorstep and ensure that Barack Obama is a one term president.”

Smart move Wiles. Romney 2012 and let the rest of the field help out where they can.

By the way the John Birch Society has a lengthy piece out about Gingrich. I found it a bit startling...I won't take their word for it but I think it is worth an investigation. Maybe Sean Hannity wants to take it on.
