Michele Bachmann throws haymakers at 'influence peddler' Newt Gingrich and 'chameleon' Mitt Romney

Michele Bachmann popped unexpectedly into South Florida on Thursday and started throwing haymakers at Republican presidential frontrunners Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.

Bachmann called Gingrich an “influence peddler” and said he has flip-flopped just like Romney. And voters won’t buy it, she said.

“They want to know what’s the truth,” she said. “They’re not interested in a chameleon.”

Just the day before, Gingrich took umbrage with Bachmann’s criticism of his immigration plan and called her “factually challenged” – a comment that highlighted the Minnesota congresswoman’s penchant for gaffes and misstatements.

The verbal tussles between the candidates is becoming more common as the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses draw closer, followed by New Hampshire and South Carolina. Florida – the largest and most influential swing state – holds its primary Jan. 31.

A spate of recent polls show Gingrich is running away with the nomination, at least for now. Three surveys released Wednesday and Thursday show Gingrich, once polling in the single digits, garnering between 40 percent to 50 percent of the Republican vote in Florida. Romney barely gets 20 percent.

Bachmann, once a top-tier candidate, only gets 1 percent of the vote in the latest Florida poll, conducted by American Research Group, which had her at 15 percent in July.

Bachmann’s support collapsed when Rick Perry entered the race just after she won the Iowa straw poll. Perry, rocketing to the top of the pack, then fell apart after bad debate performances and liberal-sounding positions on immigration. Then it was Heman Cain’s turn to lead, but he’s deflating amid a round of allegations of sexual misconduct.

“One thing that I think that we’ve seen are the surprises that have come up so far,” Bachmann said, touting her new website nosurprises2012.com “Of all the candidates, I’m the one who doesn’t have them (surprises).”

But she has had a knack for misspeaking and giving false information. Of all the presidential candidates, she’s one of the most likely to make a false statement, according to the fact-checking Politifact’s website, founded by the St. Petersburg Times.

“She needed to stop saying false or stupid things a while ago,” said political consultant Matt Towery, CEO of the Atlanta-based polling firm Insider/Advantage. “But Newt needs to stop saying much of anything. He needs to focus and not be his own worst enemy.”

Towery, who used to work for Gingrich when he was House Speaker, said he was “shocked” by his and other polls showing Gingrich winning in Florida, Iowa and South Carolina. He said, though, that Gingrich can be his own worst enemy by mouthing off, as he did when he swiped at Bachmann.

Bachmann has insisted that Gingrich supports giving amnesty to an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants. Gingrich says he hasn’t, but believes some should be allowed to stay as residents – not citizens – if they’ve been in the United States for years, raised families, paid taxes and stayed out of trouble.

When asked about Bachmann’s criticisms, Gingrich said she was “factually challenged"  and suggested her situation was like an “unfortunate” case from school.

“When I was a teacher I occasionally had a student who couldn't figure out where things were or what things were or what the right date was,” he said. “When that happens, you feel sorry that they are so factually challenged."

Asked about those comments, Bachmann said Gingrich is changing his tune, having penned a letter in the Wall Street Journal where he advocated for what she said was amnesty.

“A professor doesn’t like to be challenged,” she said. “But I think his real challenge is a memory challenge.”

Bachmann began her press conference touting her 11-point plan to rescue the economy. She spoke of the decline in home values and how it hurts states like Florida. The only woman in the race, Bachmann specifically appealed to women, saying they were particularly hard hit by the economy.

During a question and answer session, Bachmann soon pivoted to Gingrich, who she said lobbies, and Romney.

“Newt Gingrich has been a part of Washington D.C. for over three decades,” she said, saying his claim to being a conservative outsider “is really not plausible” because he “has been all over the map on his political positions and also this year alone has taken in over $100 million alone for the purpose of influence peddling in Washington D.C.. His offices are located in the rodeo drive of Washington D.C., which is K Street. And that influence peddling is not consistent with trying to portray yourself as an outsider.”

Bachmann then ticked off Gingrich’s support for a Wall Street bailout, a global-warming initiative with former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Obama’s course off action in Libya.

Then it was Romney’s turn.

“If you look at Mitt Romney, he has the same problems,” she said. “He has been very inconsistent on his positions. He has been both sides of the abortion issue, on both sides of the issue of same-sex marriage – he in fact signed 189 marriage licenses for same-sex couples for the state of Massachusetts when he was governor.”

Politifact’s website, founded by the St. Petersburg Times.
That paper is an extreme far left, Daily Kos clone. Politico's "fact checking" is largely political propaganda for the Democrats.
“She needed to stop saying false or stupid things a while ago,” said political consultant Matt Towery, and-chameleon.
Towery is not an independent pundit but linked up with Gingrich. If you want another "independent" judgment on Bachmann, ask her campaign manager, Keith Nahigian. He thinks very highly of Bachmann.
As for "false or stupid things", Gingrich propagandist Towery is an expert in that field.

Gingrich has a problem--he may be ahead in the polls, but his support is as "soft" as groper/adulterer Cain's was. Why? Because Conservatives truly hate him. He pushed NAFTA and GATT thru an unwilling Conservative House for President Bill Clinton. He's been for Amnesty for illegal aliens from the get go. He's taken huge sums of from big business and has been their champion on K Street. He's a globalist who was mentored by anti-Conservative Henry Kissinger. He's an Open Borders RINO. He treated both of his ex-wives (both of whom had cancer) shabbily, leaving them for younger women. Is this who Conservatives want in The White House? I don't think so.

The most recent poll finds that Republican voters have elevated Newt Gingrich to presidential front runner status. But it is hard to consider that those supporting him concur with his amnesty agenda or are even alert that Gingrich suggestion sounds like it would give U.S. jobs and residency to approximately 3.5 million illegal aliens (according to a new Pew Hispanic Center study)

Unless the former speaker’s supporters thrust him back from this plan of promising this even bigger amnesty, than the giant blanket amnesty of 1986 that was supposed to be the first and last one ever will be dwarfed in comparison. Probably the largest portion of the TEA PARTY membership; clearly recognized as the ‘American People’ of every racial persuasion, of every background, every age group and faith relationship are against a mass amnesty.

You can send an email to Gingrich by Google his site http://www.newt.org/contact. Click on the "Platform" option and make him aware of what you want him to change and how you feel about his immigration platform.

GINGRICH, BUSH & OBAMA SEE ONLY THE OPTIONS OF DEPORTATION OR LEGALIZATION (Attrition through Enforcement isn't in their terminology) Go to NumbersUSA to study the damage of legalizing of at least 3.5 million will cause. Of course that is if you accept the ridiculous notion that only 11.5 million migrants and immigrants have settled illegal in America. More near the mark is somewhere over 20 million population figure.

Gingrich agrees with former President Bush and also Obama that the only major exceptions for illegal aliens are deporting them or legalizing them (choices that almost all Liberal mainstream press also insist on).

His official immigration proposal gives no tip-off of recognizing that there is a third option -- ‘ATTRITION THROUGH ENFORCEMENT ‘ purges the jobs and welfare magnets for foreign nationals, thus that they will self-deport back to their homes in other nations. Hence, Gingrich is at odds with most of the other GOP candidates and most GOP Members of Congress, The Tea Party who favor the Attrition alternative.

PROBLEM IS since brazenly advocated his legalization agenda in the debate last week, he has informed his critics by telling them to read his official “TEN STEPS TO A LEGAL NATION “and his “7-Point Plan.” Those have read this roadmap to legalization and studied both and are more alarmed than ever.
We are in agreement with Gingrich and with the Pew Center that Gingrich is not suggesting-- a blanket amnesty contrasting differently from Bush and Obama. There are two key opportunities in Gingrich's proposals so far for limiting the harm:

• Because Gingrich would never tolerate his amnestied illegal aliens to become U.S. citizens, they would not be able to use the CHAIN MIGRATION CATEGORIES TO BRING INTO AMERICA UNCEASING LINES OF EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS from their homelands.

• The 1986 President Reagan amnesty naturalized an estimated 3 million illegal aliens. But seeing as millions more of their relatives have been brought to this country, it multiplied the harm to American workers, infrastructure and taxpayers. The cost supplied by the Heritage Foundation for a blanket amnesty, was around the $2.6 Trillion dollars for processing. During the processing hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens were admitted through the use of fraudulent documents.

Currently, though, voters should not be misinformed by Gingrich's public use of examples of illegal aliens who have been in the U.S. for 25 years. What about 20 years or even 10 years? Even 5 years is not mentioned? Nothing on his website or the ‘10 Step or 7 points’ limits that Gingrich Amnesty proposal to people who have been here 25 years or more. In fact, nothing puts any kind of time limit. To qualify for the Gingrich Amnesty right now, one need only have “deep ties” of “family, church and community?”

Gingrich supporters should require him to at least persuade a 25-year residency requirement in his website amnesty plan. Otherwise we could end up with millions more people attracted by his clemency and rising the costs to even higher layers of schools for their children, health care, the food stamps, WIC, Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC); WIC a federally-funded health and nutrition program for women, infants, and children. WIC helps families by providing checks for buying healthy supplemental foods from WIC-authorized vendors, nutrition education, and help finding healthcare and other community services. Low income housing, and even more supplementary programs, which our old, infirm and homeless are ineligible for?

This is your money the government is spending, taking it forcibly from your taxes. Go to any emergency hospital they are packed with foreign nationals with their children. Go to any border state school that has a present enrollment of 87 percent children of illegal aliens. It costs $113 billion dollars annually now Heritage Foundation), what’s it going to spiral to in another year, five years or ten? God! American cannot even feed their own families or keep a roof over their head?

The paramount problem is, if Gingrich wins and passes his idea of an amnesty to the Congress, then on being made law millions more will try and reach this nation? One the clarion call goes out from word of mouth, across the airwaves—unfettered numbers will be encouraged to come?

Sovereignty minded Americans should contact the Ways and Means Committee accountable for bringing ‘The Legal Workforce Act’, bill H.R.2885 to the House floor in Congress. Only the American voter or legal resident has a voice in this urgent matter, which will decrease large numbers of jobs procured by the 8.2 illegal workers, which is estimated to self-deport. The number to call for the Washington politicians is 202-224-3121. The legislators need to pay attention to the People, instead of misleading us anymore. If you have further questions read about the widespread corruption in the federal and state governments at ‘Judicial Watch.’ Be attentive that the TEA PARTY does not agree with any kind of Amnesty, Dream Acts or Sanctuary cities.

Michele Bachmann may not be the "perfect" candidate, however; she is the one most consistent on the things that matter most to me. Her consistency on things like Obamacare and what it will do to this country in terms of costs and the reduction of our liberties cannot be ignored. She is for total repeal of this terrible law, which will raise taxes on virtually every person living in this country. She is also consistent on returning our tax dollars to us and cutting out the bloat in the federal government. She knows how to create jobs having been both a tax attorney and businesswoman with her husband for years. Many of would find lots of things we would agree with her on, if we took the time to research her positions on issues, and compared what she has said with her voting record while serving in Congress. In my opinion, Michele did very well in the Presidential Forum hosted by Mike Huckabee on Fox News Channel on Dec. 2, 2011. In this election we need someone to win that has a track record of working for us, the American people, more than we need someone who can make great speeches with lots of flowery rhetoric. We already have one of them and our economy has gone straight in the tank under his leadership.
