Ron Paul's campaign is demanding an apology for a what looks like an assault, according to a report filed by Yahoo! News concerning a physical attack on Ron Paul supporter Eddie Dillard in Windermere:
Dillard, a 29-year-old Ron Paul supporter from this suburb near Orlando, arrived to vote at his precinct at Winderemere Baptist Church early Tuesday morning. Pulling into the parking lot, Dillard noticed a man outside the polling place with a Gingrich sign. He decided to run home, slip into his "Ron Paul Rocks America" T-shirt, grab a "Ron Paul 2012" sign from his garage, and return to give his candidate some representation outside the precinct after he cast his vote....
One of Gingrich's security agents stepped in front of him. When Dillard didn't budge, the agent lifted his heeled shoe over Dillard's bare foot and dug the back of it into his skin, twisting it side-to-side like he was stomping out a cigarette. Shocked, Dillard kept his ground and took a picture of the agent with his phone, which was quickly knocked out of his hand. Dillard slipped off his flip-flop to pick up the phone with his foot, and a Gingrich supporter kicked the sandal away.
"Don't kick me!" Dillard said to the man who knocked away his sandal. More members of Gingrich's security retinue approached, shoving their shoulders and chests in front of him.
"Just block him!" a Gingrich campaign aide said. "Everyone step on his toes!"

This is sick, you don't resort to violence just because somebody isn't doing what you ask. This Ron Paul supporter was doing nothing wrong and was assaulted. This cannot be tolerated, and I hope this young man presses charges to send a message that this type of violent unprovoked behavior should not be tolerated or acceptable.

Wow.
Newt Gingrich just lost mine and my family's votes.

Any verification of this incident (photos, videos) available?

Don't bring a knife to a gunfight!
Posted by: Travis H | January 31, 2012 at 04:58 PM
Is there a lawyer in FL who is willing to take his case? It would probably be better if he did it on his own vs. Gingrich rather than the Paul campaign (if that's even possible). A cool few million out of Newt's coffers an into a Paul super pack!
Posted by: Oscar | January 31, 2012 at 05:03 PM
Were any of the Gingrich supporters named Esther or Alina?
Posted by: Stop the thugs | January 31, 2012 at 05:07 PM
This unnecessary situation really angers me as a Paul supporter. If this had been a Paul supporter mistreating a contenders supporter, I would feel embarassment and shame at such actions. There is no justification for violence simply because the man did not move. It sounds as though Mr. Dillard handled the tense situation with class and dignity by not taking the bait they were throwing at him. I commend him for keeping his cool, as I am not sure I could have under the same circumstances.

This is absolutely disgusting
Posted by: Ron Paul Hemp | January 31, 2012 at 05:15 PM
This is hilarious! Ouch, he stepped on my toe. Boo hoo. Grow up. If he had been punched, fair enough, but to ask Gingrich to apologize is pretty pathetic. Figures, as Paul is set to come last for the second time in a row. He can't even jockey himself over Perry or Huntsman anymore.
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 05:30 PM
There is a picture of the scene on Yahoo, but not of the cut and bruising to his leg. Bravo to Dillard for keeping his cool through the whole thing; if he would've retaliated it would've been the Paul campaign looking bad. It's a disgusting scene from a disgusting mans disgusting campaign staff.

Hey John Townsend, sounds like you love to vigorously bully people and hurt them.
What Grinch's security team did was terrible and unprofessional. Fellow supporter did nothing to tee these guys off, and you justify this being funny? Makes me think whether you have a heart... oh wait... there it is... all shriveled up and dead. Yuck.
Posted by: Phyxrgon | January 31, 2012 at 05:45 PM
John Townsend, where do you live? I'm going to get some of my fat brothers and come stomp on your feet and see how you like it. It's physical assault. But war mongers like you think it's cool if the government can imprison American people without a trial, so I expect no less from you tyrants.
Posted by: fat libertarian | January 31, 2012 at 05:46 PM
Are you an Occupy protestor by any chance? Face the fact that Ron Paul won't win and get a grip. I also like the fact that you're a fat libertarian. Kind of sums libertarians up really. Tell your brothers to lose weight. I live upstairs, with your mother.
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 05:49 PM
STEPPING ON SOMEONE'S TOE IS NOT VIGOROUS BULLYING, YOU RETARD! God, stop complaining and MAN up!
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 05:50 PM
Hmmmm. Bunch of the story missing. Like the fact that Dillard was there PRIOR to Newt's arrival, and that they set up directly in front of him. Also, that the confrontation began when Newt's people realized he was giving his stump speech in front of a giant Ron Paul sign, at which point Dillard was surrounded in an attempt to forcibly move him from the area. But I'm not surprised.
Posted by: Kathy88 | January 31, 2012 at 05:51 PM
neither a protester nor fat man, @john townsend yet id love the opportunity to piss on your dead corpse. Mr townsend is a bully and I'm a the bully police. US Marine for Dr Paul lest the world burn and I'm forced to contribute to the heat of the flames. Tread on me and Ill stomp on you.
Posted by: louie espinosa | January 31, 2012 at 05:57 PM
Ah, save your piss for the terrorists. That's who tax payers are paying for you to kill. Just remember, Ron Paul would probably put you out of a job.
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:00 PM
ahh but the fact that I support him shows my willing sacrifice. You are beneath the terrorist and not all tax dollars are accounted for so don't be naive--I'm willing to work overtime with no pay to piss on you.

Ron Paul vs the Neocon Warmongering Chickenhawks (Gingrich, Romney, Santorum). The Chickenhawks never served in the military but they all want to play Commander-In-Chief and start WWIII with Iran using other people's lives. Only Ron Paul is pro-peace, pro-freedom and anti-bailouts. I served 4 years active duty and the troops are sick of coward neocons like Gingrich, Romney, Santorum.
Posted by: Vet4RonPaul | January 31, 2012 at 06:04 PM
No, it just shows how moronic you are. Remember what all those Vietnam vets got when they came home? Nothing. No jobs. No help. Nothing. Like it or not, war employs people. Paul will never be elected. The US has too many foreign interests. As if we want Russia filling all those power bubbles a US withdrawal would create. Anyway, how do you have the time to go on the internet. Shouldn't you be shooting some extremists?
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:06 PM
Perhaps you are not really a marine? Maybe you're a 13 year old who thinks he's tough.
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:07 PM
Our tax dollars must go to save lives; warriors must prepare the chefs knife to cut through those who hate peace. those who laugh at oppression and make light of the right to live in peace. Peace, Liberty, and the pursuit of anyone who threatens them.
Posted by: louie espinosa | January 31, 2012 at 06:10 PM
Of course, you've got the Newt Trolls coming into this site to tell you it didn't happen, or to twist the story to make it sound like it was the other guys fault. No one is permitted to step on anyones foot or grind their heels into it. It is called Freedom of "Speech". Remember they knocked his Video Camera out of his hand. Newt would sell his grandmother for $10,000,000.00. Find out all about Newt by Googling "Newt Gingrich FBI Scandal". You'll get the whole scoop on Newt.

Censorship lives here. What hypocrites.
Damn
Posted by: Mr T | January 31, 2012 at 06:15 PM
A little contradiction here. Ron Paul would not bring peace, liberty, an end to oppression, to ANYWHERE. Tyranny could reign all it wants under his watch. He couldn't care less if Iran marches all through the Middle East, imposing their laws on anyone they please. Like it or not, the USA keeps a reasonably stable world. Without it, these tyrants fear NOBODY.
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:16 PM
"an apology for a what looks like an assualt"?
"Assualt?"
Posted by: Chris | January 31, 2012 at 06:18 PM
Who do you think is going to step up when the US steps down? Putin? China? Perhaps Angela Merkel's Fourth Reich? Keep dreaming. If the US withdraw from EVERYWHERE as Paul wishes, Hundreds of thousands could die in the ensuing conflicts.
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:18 PM
Mr Townsend, any online poll will show you that only Romney and Dr Paul have the best chance of beating Obama. do you drink your kool aid b4 you open the pouch too?
Posted by: Louie Espinosa | January 31, 2012 at 06:21 PM
You don't have to read "On Killing" by LtCol Dave Grossman to understand the plight of the Vietnam Vet. Civilians laughed at Vets and suggested they deserved to have missing limbs--'served them right'--according to their attitudes. Support for our troops is at an all time high; support for our Govt. is at an all time low. BTW you're the one who comments as though he is 13. Grow up and heed the conviction for your stupidity.
Posted by: Louie Espinosa | January 31, 2012 at 06:26 PM
John townsend must be a troll. No one can look at the national debt and the fact that we got no where invading iraq and afghanistan and seriously be considering invading Iran. they can't even produce gas for their own people, buddy. They couldn't get a nuke to the US even if they had one. Israel has 300 nukes, and we have these things called "missle defense systems". derp de derp. Stop trolling and go get educated.
Posted by: logical larry | January 31, 2012 at 06:29 PM
Moron. I'm NOT a Gingrich supporter! And Wall Street Journal's average has SANTORUM with a better chance of beating Barrack than Paul. Even Santorum! And being a Paul supporter, you're one to talk about Kool Aid. Everyone regards Paul supporters as brainwashed nut jobs. There's not much point in arguing anyway. He won't win. That's that. See you in Iran ;)
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:30 PM
you remember speak softly; carry a big stick. Lets mind our own business and worry about the western hemisphere. we can't afford to worry about everyone else. China will no longer purchase our debt so we don't have the money to fund our international policing campaign...look at the big picture townsend, don't be satisfied with the 20 dollar alley hooker when you can have the virgin church girl.
Posted by: Louie Espinosa | January 31, 2012 at 06:31 PM
Your hooker analogy certainly paints you as a great example of a human being! Aren't you proud? Remember to aim one right at Ahmadinejad's head, okay?
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:33 PM
France and Britain 'spoke softly and carried a big stick' with Hitler. It doesn't work for very long.
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:36 PM
if this did happen, it is pretty scary, naziish even. shame on those people for acting like that. Newt should direct his supporters to behave more like adults, because these are more like grade school antics than anything!!!
Posted by: mike v. | January 31, 2012 at 06:41 PM
Im glad you enjoyed the hooker analogy--so much for the 13 year old huh! He who has no sin...France and britain spoke softly and carried michael jackson's velvet glove. Whats the point of having a big stick if you won't use it. what part of we cant afford it do you not understand? besides the fact that it is unconstitutional to invade countries to 'keep us safe'. Hitler did that so are you saying we should be nazis?
Posted by: Louie Espinosa | January 31, 2012 at 06:43 PM
The allies could have stopped Hitler at the Czech republic and that would have averted the war. They held a strategy of non-intervention on the basis that they didn't know much about the Czechs and had little in common with them. Hitler gained confidence and momentum as he swept through Europe unchallenged, and when the allies finally stood up to him in Poland, he was too strong and crushed France without much trouble. Would have taken Britain too had it not been for the Russian mistake. The point is, intervention IS defense. It stops enemies gaining power before they become too strong. Example, Iran and nuclear weapons.

*Should be Czechoslovakia. They weren't split yet.

FIB NEWTon is more narcissistic than that POS 0bama. BOTH are low-life, unintellectual manboobs with thuggish mafioso's financially backing them. Like that pagan worshiping, idolator, the owner of the sands CaSINo who owns & dircects this mockery of a candidate.
None of them are classy enough for the Presidency, but it is funny to laugh at.
FIB Newton's candidacy is in the dumpster.
Posted by: Fib NEWTon | January 31, 2012 at 06:54 PM
Anyway, there's much more entertaining things to do than debate you on the merits of isolationist foreign policy. Good luck in Iran. :) They need a good ass-kickin'
Posted by: John Townsend | January 31, 2012 at 06:55 PM
Time to close the casket lid on the Gingrich campaign.
Posted by: Fib NEWTon | January 31, 2012 at 06:58 PM
Hey John, instead of wishing him luck in Iran, you seem to like war. Why don't you go. Maybe your children, or other family members would like to die halfway around the world.

Buh-bye eye of newt, don't let the door hit ya and that big bird looking freak of a wife of yours.

I am outraged by such childish behavior! The man has just as much right to stand there with a sign of support as anyone else! Shame on those who ridicule supporters not in favor of Newt! This doesn't make you shine any brighter and people like you will have your day! You know who you are~ Compose yourselves and get a life.. Represent America better than this~ Really?? Just saying!

where is the police not arresting Gingrich and his thugs for abuse. They are so much prove of thier crime and where is the chief od police of this town, where is FBI. They aids and gingrich need to sit in jail. Again police protecting the crimnals.

@John Townsend... you're obviously as nasty and uncivilized as the security personnel who INTENTIONALLY stepped on this guys foot. You really need to be knocked off your high horse because your attitude is equally disgusting. Anyone who assaults another person, especially under circumstances like these, deserves to be punished to the full extent by the law. People like you make me lose faith in humanity... thankfully, though, there are folks like Ron Paul who restore dignity and benevolence.

The liars in the media refer to crushing someone's bare foot as "harassing" them, when there is a medical bill for Dillard's medical treatment at the hospital.
Sick and evil, and it allows mindless simpleton's like John Townsend (who believes whatever is repeated the most and rejects out of hand any contradictory point) to mock a real assault on an innocent person.
These media demons need to be picketed daily until they stop lying to us.
