Miami-Dade School Board member and State House candidate Renier Diaz de la Portilla was none too pleased about a blog post concerning opponent Manny Diaz Jr.'s fundraiser. Diaz de la Portilla points out that, not only is he really leading Diaz in fundraising, he has perhaps the most-important of endorsements, former Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart.
"I am supporting Renier Diaz de la Portilla for State Representative because he has done an exceptional job on the School Board and because I am convinced that he will continue to serve our community well in Tallahassee," Diaz-Balart wrote in a statement. "In the coming months I look forward to asking our entire community to support Renier as well."
Diaz de la Portilla certainly has high name ID. He's not just a sitting school board member and former state representative -- he's the brother of a current state Sen., Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, and a former state Rep. and Sen. Alex Diaz de la Portilla.
"I have the support and endorsement of Lincoln Diaz-Balart. An important DISTRICT-WIDE endorsement," Renier Diaz de la Portilla wrote in a text message. He said Diaz can't compete.
"He can't win unless he outspends me 3-1. Not happening. I outraised him more than 2 to 1 in the last quarter, even though he has been raising and campaigning since 2010," Diaz de la Portilla said.

Diaz de la Portilla wins this race, the endorsements that Diaz has are useless as a whole. The race has only a tiny portion of Hialeah so what good does it to have the support of their politicians. Custin is no longer partners with Sascha Tirador, so he does not have the pull he used to, Alex Diaz de la Portilla is the stronger of the two titans right now.

I keep getting this annoying recorded message in Spanish to vote for Renier, on a daily basis.
I recognize the number now and just let it go to voice-mail.
I think I'll vote for his opponent Manny Diaz just based on this daily barrage.

I do not care who you are or where your from as long as you leave my house phone alone! I am especislly tired of Rene Diaz de la Portilla bombarding my phone and interrupting my calls. I do not care if you are backed up by God, do not call my house with those infernal machines anymore. I may even change my party because of you. I cannot stand the bombardment of phone calls and messages that fill up my message machine. I feel like voting for nothing. Your all annoying as far as I'm concerned. The more you cal the less I'll vote. My phone is for my personal use. NOT for political bullying. What are you trying to do wear us down. Forget it, it won't work and it will backfire on you as far as I'm concerned. Stop calling. Do I have to sue to stop you?
