Anatomy of absentee-ballot fraud, the Hialeah edition

The latest investigation of potential absentee ballot fraud in Miami-Dade County was triggered by a private investigator who went to police with his suspicions that a woman active in Hialeah politics was illegally collecting absentee ballots from voters.

Miami private investigator Joe Carrillo said he first went to Miami-Dade public corruption detectives last week about Daisy Cabrera, who Carrillo said had been handing out business cards to voters offering assistance with their ballots.

Carrillo obtained a copy of one of Cabrera’s cards, decorated with the stars and stripes and a handwritten message in Spanish on the back: “When the ballot arrives you call me. I work every election.”

Then, on Tuesday, Carrillo said he observed Cabrera knocking on doors in a Hialeah neighborhood before visiting the Hialeah campaign office of Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, who is seeking re-election Aug. 14. Cabrera then went to the Miami-Dade Elections office, and finally the post office, he said. Carrillo videotaped some of Cabrera’s travels.

Cabrera was questioned Wednesday by detectives who found her in possession of several absentee ballots, sources said. Under a new county ordinance, it is a misdemeanor for anyone to possess more than two ballots belonging to other voters.

A second woman, Matilde Martinez, is also being investigated by police and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, the sources said.

Gimenez has strongly denied that Cabrera and Martinez were involved with his campaign, and said he has repeatedly instructed all campaign workers not to touch any voters’ ballots.

“Those ladies do not work for me,” Gimenez said Thursday. “I hate this kind of activity.”

Carrillo said he began investigating after he was contacted by a group of “concerned citizens” who asked for his help snuffing out voter fraud in the city. He said he was not working for any current campaigns. Carrillo said he also investigated absentee-ballot fraud in Hialeah in 2006.

“This is the first time that we actively caught them with ballots in hand,” Carrillo said Thursday. “This is par for the course for how they do things in Hialeah.”

The facts here are not quite in are they?? When we say voting fraud, we mean Democrat voting fraud. Since it happens , it seems Dem registrars, Dem pols in Mn, Ind.Wash.state, Fla. always are involved in some gyp to vote the dead, felons, illegals, cats, dogs whatever. Frankly, if I were a Fla. voters, and I used to be in 1961 , I would never vote for any Dem because I know somehow the campaign will be using fraud, using lawyers to cheat and use the media to make their opponents look like the ones who really have something to hide. Wait, that is what Obama is doing now. Yikes.

Hold it there, Glenn. What evidence do you have, and Fox News doesn't count, that Democratic registrars in Washington state are "voting dead." Evidence, Glenn, evidence.

How about the Seattle Times reporter Mike Baker?

Dogs, dead people get voter forms from nonprofit

July 13, 2012 at 12:46 AM

OLYMPIA, Wash. —
"The voter registration form arrived in the mail last month with some key information already filled in: Rosie Charlston's name was complete, as was her Seattle address.

Problem is, Rosie was a black lab who died in 1998.

A group called the Voter Participation Center has touted the distribution of some 5 million registration forms in recent weeks, targeting Democratic-leaning voting blocs such as unmarried women, blacks, Latinos and young adults.

But residents and election administrators around the country also have reported a series of bizarre and questionable mailings addressed to animals, dead people, noncitizens and people already registered to vote.”

'whasup' - voter fraud is people casting votes that are invalid.

Getting voter registration forms that are pre-filled with incorrect names isn't voter fraud. Specifically, getting forms prefilled with bad info from mailing lists, such as for people that have died, or from people subscribing pets to magazines, isn't voter fraud. That's just bad paperwork. And there's no indication that the people who received the forms tried to register dead people or pets as voters (which would be illegal). And if they tried, they'd probably fail, because voter registrations are validated against other data, so people who don't exist, or who have died, aren't registered as voters, and thus can't actually have votes counted. And, of course, poll workers won't allow voters to vote multiple times with different names.

There are vanishingly few actual cases of voter fraud, despite all of the political hype. For example, VA recently admitted in court that they had ZERO actual cases of voter fraud, so their new voter ID laws (which will prevent hundreds of thousands of actual, legitimate voters from voting) aren't in response to any actual voter fraud, but is solely justified as preventing a hypothetical future flood of voter fraud.

As someone who has worked campaigns, including Get Out the Vote efforts targeting new voters, those pre-filled registrations with wrong names, pet names, names of dead people, etc, happen because the databases used target names that are 1) not registered to vote and 2) tied to a specific address.

There is no conspiracy to get dogs, et al, to vote, and 0% of the time will you see that happen or even get submitted by campaigns (no signature means we can't turn in the registration; if we did, it wouldn't get sent out because there is no signature to match to a voter registration/SS signature; nor would we take the chance considering the heavy penalties and ethical challenges if we're wrong).

They screw up the politics in their own countries, cry aboudt it, then come here and screw up our country............
