Panel set for Oct. 17 Nelson-Mack Senate showdown

The only confirmed statewide TV debate between U.S. Senate candidates Connie Mack IV and Bill Nelson will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from the campus of Nova Southeastern University in Davie, near Fort Lauderdale.

A project of Leadership Florida and the Florida Press Association, the one-hour debate will be carried live on TV stations in 11 markets, from Miami to Pensacola, including WFTS-Channel 28 (ABC Action News) in the Tampa-St. Petersburg market and WTVJ-Channel 6 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale.

The debate moderator will be Michael Williams, anchor and reporter for WPTV-Channel 5 in West Palm Beach. The three panelists will be Toluse Olorunnipa of the Times/Herald Tallahassee bureau, Anthony Man of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and Lissette Campos of WFTS-Channel 28 in Tampa.
