More than 620,000 Floridians have absentee-voted already, GOP vote lead ticks up a point

The daily update in the absentee-ballot voting war is like the others: Bigger than the day before; and Republicans leading, but not like they used to. Still, it's a lead. And the GOP lead has ticked up 1 point over the Democrats relative to its prior leads this season):

2.38 million absentee votes. 8.4 million total votes 2008. We are past 25% turnout compared to 08. Wow! That is incredible.

Florida's absentee voting has always skewed GOP. On election night 1988, many media outlets called the US Senate race for Buddy MacKay, the Democrat. After a review of absentee ballots, Connie Mack came from behind and won.
The difference HAS narrowed over the last 24 years, however.
