New Democratic mailer attacks Dorworth's '7 sins'

The Florida Democratic Party is out with a new mailer entitled "The 7 Deadly Sins of Chris Dorworth," the Republican lawmaker from Lake Mary who was just named House majority leader under the new Speaker, Will Weatherford.

The mail piece, based on news reports in The Orlando Sentinel and The Tampa Bay Times and Dorworth's voting record, accuses him of "lust, anger, pride, envy, gluttony, sloth and greed," and cites information from his divorce case and from his personal political committee, known as Citizens for an Enterprising Democracy. The Sentinel's latest story about Dorworth noted discrepancies between the extent of his debt listed on his personal financial disclosure statement ($56,000) and in his divorce-case filing ($3 million).

Dorworth is in line to succeed Weatherford as speaker in 2014. Democrats are sending the piece to voters in House District 29, where Dorworth is favored to defeat Democrat Mike Clelland in the upcoming election.
