Dolphins owner Ross to fundraise for Scott re-election

From POLITICO:

Republican Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who polls show facing a difficult reelection fight, is fundraising this weekend at the Hamptons home of Steve Ross — the Miami Dolphins owner who has become a lead antagonist of some of Florida’s Republican lawmakers.

Scott and his wife will be feted at cocktails and dinner by Ross on Sunday night, according to an invitation obtained by POLITICO.

It puts Scott in a slightly delicate position with members of his own party in his state. Ross recently launched a super PAC aimed at supporting Scott and slamming lawmakers of both parties over the rejection of a one-cent increase in the hotel bed tax to help fund a refurbishing of the Dolphins’ stadium.

This surprises you why? It is becoming more evident daily that Scott will sell his soul for his reelection.

His delay in choosing a Lt. Gov. leads me to believe he will actively campaign for legislation to eliminate that position in the next session. No doubt he will, and the media will be willing proponents that it will save money. When the fact is he does not want to share the spotlight with anyone. Citizens of Florida should be outraged.

I will never go to another Dolphins game with my family or employees.

Ironic it is the middle class man the loves to bring their family to the Dolphins games. And the owner is supporting Rick Scott a thief and a man reviled by the majority of Floridians. It's a free country and he can support whomever he chooses. And some hardcore Dolphin fans feels like we have been punched in the stomach. Saddens many of us. We loved and supported your team and now you spit on us.

Bye-Bye Fish.....

Rafael

Those that equate The Dolphins with the econo-politics around it are not fans...so, a NFL owner works in the best interests of his investment?...shocker...that has never happened before in the NFL...its a game, played by players who have devoted their iives to it and can do nothing else...be a f---in fan and support your team...the rest will take care of itself in another arena...

John

Hey Rafael, why would any state employee or teacher who is a Dolphin fan pay for a ticket that some of the proceeds for are going to help elect a man who is going to stick a boot up your backside?

Pablo

Hey Rafael I equate your logic with this:
Would you spend your money at a store that donates money to a thug that hurts you and your family with their policies? Rick Scott is single handedly destroying the environment, dislikes the hispanics, a fake Christian, wants to send everyone to prison (except white collar crooked friends), and hands out corporate welfare to his cronies. It hurts me that I am forced to boycott the Dolphins but I cannot support their owner.

EX-DOLPHINS FAN

I WAS A DOLPHINS FAN EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE KEPT LOOSING. NOT ANYMORE. NO WAY. GO BUCKS.

Daniel

No, Ross, we won't be funding your stadium anytime soon.
