Anti-Amendment 2 group says teenagers will have access to medical pot

Family Feud time! Today’s question: Name something most teenagers cannot do.

Vote? Ding! See R-rated movies alone? Ding! Buy beer? Ding!

Score some weed without a hitch under Florida’s proposed medical marijuana amendment? BUZZZZ!

An anti-marijuana coalition operating the website DontLetFloridaGoToPot.com has claimed as much. Among the talking points was the assertion, "The amendment allows a teenager to get a recommendation for medical marijuana without the consent of a parent."

There’s already plenty of debate over the legalities of Amendment 2, which is on the November ballot. But can teens easily score a nickel bag solo should it pass? We’ll have to take our own survey and see what it says.

The citizens are horrified that their ballot has been desecrated by this most offensive concept of allowing dangerous illegal drugs into their society where children can gain access to them and to irreparable damage to their developing brains while adults will use these drugs and end up with worthless lives.

Is there anyone out there that thinks that, right now, there is a teen in Florida who couldn't access pot right now if they wanted to? What an asinine argument.

HempStaff

This is COMPLETELY FALSE. The Bill clearly states that a minor can not be prescribed medical cannabis without the consent of at least one parent. The anti-pot brigade is so worried they are coming out with the old school 'Refer Madness' scare tactics. Give it up - the war is over - the hippies have won. Get ready for Medical Marijuana Florida - oh and get ready for a booming economy and jobs! :) Check out our website if you look to work in the industry ...

Mrs. Ed Jenkins

actually, i don't recall the amendment having an age restriction. why should it matter - if a doctor thinks it is safe for a child, then why should it matter?

Roger Stone

God I hope so. So much safer than booze....

Billy Johnson

governor Scott and the legislators that support allowing medical marijuana to be used in Florida in violation of federal laws should be arrested and tried for breaking the law and enabling our children to use illegal drugs.

The wise billy Johnson makes good points about the dangerous illegal drugs approved in this state and a small handful of others. Our DEA needs to perform its duties and put an end to that illegal activity and the sale of these dangerous drugs.

The Amendment specifically does not address this but when passed (Unfortunately for Ed and Billy - this WILL pass) it will most likely be loosely based on State Bill 962 which is was in State Congress but killed by the Health Dept - submitted by Senator Clemens. Here it states:

"authorizing a qualifying patient who is a minor to possess, use, or administer medical cannabis only in the presence of the minor’s parent or legal guardian and only if the minor’s parent or legal guardian signs a written statement"

Shut the hell up you druggie. You must have to take a lot of drugs to think people around here are sympathetic to your pathetic need to abuse drugs because your life sucks so much.

I fond this comment on the web and wanted to share this agent must want come clean.
I guess the shame was to much to live with. Tomorrow is my last day as an employee working for the DEA. Every time I read a quote from Michele Leonhart I become more and more disgusted. I cannot morally and ethically continue to work for such an organization. I cannot support an organization that supports mandatory minimum sentences, I cannot support an organization that supports straight up LIES like the DEA spouts on a daily basis. I cannot support an organization that targets non-violent citizens for simply enjoying a smoke. I cannot do this job anymore. I can't do it. I hope Michele Leonhart gets fired and the DEA loses its funding. Law enforcement needs to focus on REAL problems in society.
