FSU application pending, John Thrasher files for re-election

From the News Service of Florida:

As the search for a new president at Florida State University plays out, Sen. John Thrasher, R-St. Augustine, formally qualified Monday to run for re-election in his Northeast Florida district.

Thrasher is widely considered to be the front-runner for the presidency of FSU, where he earned bachelor's and law degrees. But it remains unclear how long the stop-and-start search process will take. Qualifying for this year's state elections started at noon Monday and will end at noon Friday.

Thrasher qualified on the first day in Senate District 6, along with fellow Republican Derek Hankerson and no-party-affiliation candidate Greg Feldman. District 6 includes all of St. Johns, Flagler and Putnam counties and part of Volusia County.

Can't take anymore

At the current rate, Thrasher will be term limited out of the Senate before anyone is finally selected by the committee of dolts at FSU. They know the payback that will befall FSU if they recommend anyone but Big John. His friends in the Legislature will probably move the College of Engineering, the Medical School and the football team to Daytona State College as punishment if he isn't their choice.

What happens if John Thrasher wind the nomination and then drops out to take the FSU job? Would we get an appointed candidate or a special election? It wouldn't matter to me however, because I can not vote for Thrasher since he supports common core and I see how it already hurting my kids.

I wonder if he knows that the Presidents house at FSU is not in a gated community?
