About Susan Cocking's Outdoors

Susan Cocking has been the Outdoors writer for Miami Herald since 1994. Prior to that, she was a radio newscaster/reporter for local radio stations and wrote freelance fishing articles for several outdoors magazines such as Florida Sportsman and Saltwater Sportsman. In the 1980s, she ran a small light-tackle charterboat in Key West and also was part-time skipper of a U.S. Navy recreational fishing boat at Boca Chica Naval Air Station.
