Ebert Film critic Roger Ebert, who has been recovering from cancer of the salivary gland, has written a new column updating readers about his status, as well as his plans to attend his ninth annual Overlooked Film Festival, which begins tomorrow.

Rene, is there any chance you'll ever be a guest critic on the Ebert-Roeper show?


I'd do it if they asked, my camera shyness notwithstanding. But the phone hasn't rung. Guess I'm just not as famous as Kevin Smith or Jay Leno. Harrumph.
