That merry prankster Michael Moore, a Best Documentary Oscar nominee for Sicko (which extolled the virtues of the Cuban health care system), is threatening to show up at the Academy Awards with Fidel Castro as his date. Moore says he'd even allow Castro to accept his Oscar if he wins, as long as the just-retired dictator can keep his acceptance speech "under five hours."

This is by far the stupidest kind of moron existing in today's United States. WHat kind of idiot are you, do you know that your joking about something that has caused pains in numerous American Families. You Michael Moore are a complete a$$hole and I hope one day your ways don't back fire on you. I boycotted you long time ago. This is the kind of crap that makes us Democrats look bad.

This is his sick way of getting back at the older Cubans who vote primarily Republican.

Michael Moore can take his fat ass to cuba the next time he needs medical attention, and see how well that works for him. Moore is a sicko.

Isabel, I am not Cuban nor Latin American nor married to a Cuban, but your comment is sick. I bet if one of your relatives was killed or imprisoned by Castro's commie henchmen you wouldn't love Michael Moore. How insensitive and classless.

Moore is hurting his cause, his movie is sheerly brilliant and intelligent. IT's one of the best I've ever seen.

About as senseless as Cuban-Americans running around calling Democrats communist. The same Democrats that like Jimmy Carter who opened his arms to them.
P.S.
And you probably are Cuban.

I used to support micahel moore. Now I believe he's just an s.o.b.

Jimmy Carter had no choice to not allow 100,000 Mariel Cubans because the announcement in CUBAN history on taht day came on the cenvenience of Castro, not Carter or the US govt. So get it right, Carter didn't ask for the Cubans, he had to deal with them.
And number too, maybe if Castro does leave his sick bed, and enters the US, maybe he will die. So let him travel abroad. A cold can kill him.

No, I am not Cuban. I do not support some of their methods of demonstration. I do not support all of their political points of view. Yes, I feel that I believe that they should learn English and not expect us Americans to speak Spanish. Now if that doesn't convince you that I am not Cuban, then I don't know what else to tell you.
Now with that being said, we should seperate what we don't like about a particular group and something that is wrong, and inviting Castro ,an enemy of the USA is an insult to the US and offensive to the Cubans here in the US.The fact that I do not agree with the Cubans on a lot of things is irrelevant.

It's a joke! If you don't like it don't laugh and move on. Get a life! And I am Cuban.

Castro wouldn't leave his cocoon. He's probably so old and feeble anyways. He would fear for his life -- rightfully so. Moore is just talking his usually mierda. I wouldn't put much value on this comment/story.

Moore is a closet communist enough said. He sure is not welcomed here.

I respect Mr Moore's work but comments like this are a total disrespect to the people of Cuba. What a dissapointment!

Michael Moore is just trying to act important by stating that he would like to take Fidel Castro as his date. Castro probably does not even know who this man is. It's as if I went out and bragged about taking President Bush to my prom. Michael Moore is just an unattractive, untalented wanna be something who likes to attract attention to himself. Didn't somebody once say that even bad publicity is better than no publicity at all? You see, right now, we're reading and writing about this thing of a person If he had not thought up this stupid attention getter nobody would even mention his name.

What an idiot.
Why can't we just ship him over to Cuba? It's obviously what he wants.
What a Fat A-(well, you know).

Some of you can't take a joke!
I think there must be a correlation between political immaturity and
the lack of a proper sense of humor.
¡Que Viva Michael Moore! ¡Que Viva Fidel!

This guy needs living the life of a free man while making money on the backs of Cubans that die for the freedom he takes for granted.

Good to see all the professional cubans come out of the woodwork for this one. Gotta love living in Cuba part 2....Oh wait I mean Miami.
You know what would be great though, if he DID take Castro, won the award, and then Castro could take another swan dive off the stage and break some more bones or something.
