Cameron Crowe has been laying low since the critical and commercial failure of 2005's Elizabethtown, a movie that I recognize is too long and self-indulgent, but I still love it. I don't know anyone else who does other than my friend Amber, who has superb taste in movies (and uncannily similar to mine, natch).
I'm a huge fan of Crowe's work, and he also happens to be one of the nicest and most sincere filmmmakers I've ever met. When you interview him, he makes you feel like you've been friends forever, and he responds to your passion for the art of filmmaking by giving really good interview.
Crowe has been quietly working on a new movie, tentatively titled Volcano Romance, that is currently set to star Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon and sounds like another fantasy-tinged, genre-busting picture like Vanilla Sky. According to imdb.com, he also working on a documentary about Pearl Jam set to coincide with the band's 20th anniversary, which explains why Crowe directed the group's latest music video for the song The Fixer.
New York magazine has graciously shared the clip with the online world. Check it out below and see what you think. I'm no music critic, but I think this song is really good.

Not a big fan of Cameron Crow but this video is quite good. Not a bad song either. Thanks for the post!
