High hopes for Freddy

History has repeatedly taught us not to get too excited about any horror remake by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes company. But I must admit to being intrigued by the teaser for their Nightmare on Elm Street redo arriving next year. What do you think?

I think it looks fantastic. Of all these horror remakes coming out of the new horror legends (Jason, Leatherface, Freddy, Pinhead, etc.) this remake is the only one I have given a damn about seeing, and hoping that it turns out good. I think a new take on Freddy Krueger, if done well, if done with some serious thought, could be outstanding. I really want to see an EVIL Freddy Krueger, not the slash happy comedian of the original films. So i am really hoping that this Freddy is dead serious, and sinister. The casting of Jackie Earl Haley is an absolutely perfect start, and it's given me hope for this film. It probably wont be, but I truly hope this is as good as it should be.
