Best airports for long layovers

Hong-Kong-Airport-golfIt might not be quite the equivalent of poolside cabanas, but some of the world’s largest airports have come up with more creative ways to spend a long layover than adding another bar and a souvenir shop.

Amsterdam's Schiphol has a free branch of the Rijksmuseum art gallery. Changi in Singapore has a two-story butterfly grotto with a waterfall. Seoul's Incheon airport has an “ice” rink made of plastic for skating. Dubia International Airport is just three miles from indoor skiing. Hong Kong International has a nine-hole golf course (pictured). You get the idea.

Fodor’s has compiled a list of the best airports for long layovers. Go here to check it out.
