Not that I don't love roller coasters. But sometimes when I'm in Orlando, I need a break from the spinning, speeding, topsy-turvy coaster cars. On my last trip, I found a new diversion: Lunch with an animal specialist at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's a small group, usually 12 or fewer, although on this occasion there were 13 of us. The food was excellent, the animal keeper armed with a supply of endearing animal stories, and through a window, we could see wildlife passing by. Read my story here.
And while I have your attention, I want to call your attention to another story in Sunday's Travel section. If you're a fan of Mad Men -- returning for a new season a week from Sunday -- here's a report on the Manhattan haunts seen in the show.
