If you’ve ever arrived at a ski resort, psyched by a report of two feet of new snow, only to find that report was, er, significantly overstated, you’ll appreciate how social media is changing the reporting of snow conditions.
The Associated Press reports that skiers are relying more on information from social media than on reports issued by the resorts themselves, forcing the resorts to be more accurate – and more transparent – in what they claim.
