With prime time for roadtripping approaching, Yahoo! Has come up with its list of the best road trips in the U.S. : Alaska’s Seward Highway, Arizona’s Dine' Tah Scenic Road, California’s Pacific Coast Highway (aka Route 1), Colorado’s San Juan Skyway, the Florida Keys Overseas Highway, Minnesota’s North Shore Drive, New York’s Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway, the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia and North Carolina, Oregon’s Mt. Hood Scenic Byway, and in South Dakota, the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway. I’ve done all or part of six of the ten, and it’s hard to disagree. But I’d add U.S. 50 from Lake Tahoe up the eastern flank of the Sierra Nevada and down into Placerville, Calif., and the back roads of northern Wyoming, from Devil’s Tower west. Next up on my road trip wish list: the coast of either Oregon or Maine, of which I’ve driven only short stretches. Here’s Yahoo’s story. Take a look and see what you think.
