Triple Crown road trip

Would you drive 817 miles to see three horse races? What if they were the three races in the Triple Crown?

The Triple Crown races start Saturday with the Kentucky Derby, continue on May 19 at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore and finish up with the Belmont Stakes on June 9 in Elmont, N.Y. That’s 817 miles from Louisville to Elmont, with a stop in Baltimore.

If you're thinking about making the trek, read this for advice from Tim Wilkin, who covers horseracing for the Albany Times Union.
