Virginia is catering to roadtrippers with a tourism campaign aimed at enticing travelers into an “Old School” road trip.
The Virginia Tourism Corp. is counting on lower gas prices and a trend toward later vacation planning to get people to take to Virginia’s highways.
The state is promoting itineraries built around “old school eats” (diners and drive-ins); wines, brews and spirits; musical sites and performances; and “roadside wonders” like county fairs and monuments.
The Virginia Tourism Corp.’s website suggests 30 road trip itineraries.
