Seinfeld creator Larry David loved the heated benches on the Jets sideline

At the risk of enraging a share of the diehard Dolphins' fan base, I'm going to broach two subjects that you probably don’t find amusing at all: The New York Jets. And kicker Jay Feely.

At least the third element of this anecdote should somehow have a way to make everything – even those hated Jets – seem much funnier. Yes, the simple mention of Seinfeld creator Larry David generally manages to lighten every mood.

Anyway, after seeing this photo, which was taken before the Jets' game against the Bills on Oct. 18 [Thanks to PhinsFan54 for pointing that out! Nice catch!], I sent Feely a text to find out the story behind it. Take a look:

Makes you wonder what they were talking about, doesn’t it? As you could probably guess, even when he doesn’t have a camera rolling for a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode, Feely says David acts exactly the same.

“Can’t you just picture him saying, ‘the benches are heated?! I love these benches!’” Feely texted.

Apparently, David really couldn’t stop talking about how much he enjoyed sitting on the heated benches. That's literally almost all he talked about. Classic. But it also got me thinking: How entertaining would it be if an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm really was filmed during a Dolphins-Jets game?

Just imagine the potential plot lines. Somehow, someway, you know it would have ended with Joey Porter taking down Larry. Or something involving naked athletes in the locker room. Or Feely missing a game-winning kick because he couldn’t get something Larry had previously said out of his mind.

End of the game with the Jets down by 4, Braylon Edwards catches a bomb, and is 10 yards away from the end zone when Larry spills his gatorade on Jake Long who then pushes larry onto the field taking down Edwards out at the 5 as time expires.

But one question: how could that picture have been taken before last Sunday's Fins-Jets game, when Feely is wearing the regular Jets uniform?
