Dolphins: Pasqualoni Fired

The Dolphins defense allowed 390 points, 3rd most in the AFC, and gave up an NFL-high 140 points in the 4th quarter.

The defense ranked 22nd in NFL and ranked DEAD last in the AFC in passing yards per play.

So, this shouldn't be considered a SHOCKER! (Unless, you were stunned by Mark McGwire's recent admission... which means you don't get out much)

Here's the tale of the tape...

There are now three coaching vacancies the team needs to fill on the defensive side. Linebackers coaches Jim Reid and George Edwards, along with Pasqualoni.

There are 2 guys available that obviously can fill the void and have ties to The Tuna.

There was a report based out of Atlanta that had Al Groh heading to Georgia Tech.

Groh is looking for work after being let go as the HC at Virginia.

He coached for Parcells with the Giants in 1989-90, the Patriots (as the defensive coordinator) in 1993-96 and the Jets in 1997-99. He was also the Jets head coach in 2000 when Parcells was the GM.

Also, the word out of KC is that they want to hire Romeo Crennel (He & Pioli have NE ties).

Crennel coached Parcells special teams with the Giants and the defensive line with the Patriots and Jets.

Crennel was the DC in New England for two of their Super Bowls.

So, maybe those names surface here in Miami with the possibility that secondary coach Todd Bowles, who is also the Dolphins’ assistant head coach could also be a candidate.

Agreed; glad that he's gone. The "D" looked clueless all season.
