CANES: Jason Whitlock not sold on Golden

Jason Whitlock of FoxSports.com joined us this morning on the Jorge Sedano Show, to discuss the University of Miami hiring of Football coach Al Golden.

Whitlock, is a former MAC Conference guy who still follows the conference very closely.

Here are some audio clips of what he had to say:

#1- Is Al Golden a good coach?

JASON WHITLOCK W SEDANO - IS AL GOLDEN A GOOD COACH - 12-13-10

#2 - Al Golden dealing with expectations.

JASON WHITLOCK W SEDANO - GOLDEN dealing with expectations

#3 - His explanation of Golden's success in the MAC

JASON WHITLOCK W SEDANO - GOLDEN tenure in MAC - 12-13-10

#4 - Can Golden win in a more ideal football setting like Miami?

JASON WHITLOCK W SEDANO - PUT COACH IN BETTER SITUATION

Now, I understand that fans don't want to hear someone with an opposing view. You need to be open minded here. Whitlock, has knowledge of that conference. Which, is more than you can say for most who follow college football.

I am a fan of Kirby Hocutt. I make no bones about it. I have faith that he's done his due diligence here. I hope in the end he made the right hire.

Wow! Now I'm worried. I'm a big fan of Whitlock's and think he's one of the better sportswriters around. He's definitely a guy who who follows the MAC and knows it, which a lot of these so called experts don't. Now I'm worried.

CANEFAN

Oh god no, Jason Whitlock, football guru, says Golden is a bad coach. I'm so worried. Hearing this I believe Kirby should fire him now and sign another coach.

Please! the overwhelming majority of people in that industry say he is a quality young coach and one of the better options out there. But a writer who is a casual observer knows more than most of the people in the business? Come on, Jason Whitlock is fat guy with zero expertise in these things.

None of UM's great coaches all had no impressive record or any championships before getting there shot here. I guess Jason Whitlock would have had issues with them to.

I'm not worried!

Thank you Jason Whitlock for ruining my Monday. Thank goodness for the Heat!

How can you have this Idiot on your show. This is the same fat slob that is still writing negative articles abou Lebron James. I have read many of his articles in the passed and have never agreed with him about anything. Is this the best that you can get on your show. Totally Pathetic. Tell that ignorant idiot to go eat another cheesburger. He never has a nice word to say about anyone in South Florida. I am sure that his only objective was to have recruits who are listening go some where else. Way to go Sedano. I beleive we got one of the best young coaches in college football. Wait and see! Whitlock...go on a diet you fat slob

Bruce Arians?

I'm a Temple fan...and season ticket holder.
Whitlock is dead on...hate seeing Golden go though because I think we could have gotten better.

Mark D'Onofrio?

I'm a Temple fan...and season ticket holder.
Whitlock is a complete moron and knows nothing about Temple football.

Waste of time listening to this guy. You can follow the MAC and know nothing truly about the teams. He's one of them.

Lou

He said he did "less with more" at temple..since when has the situation at temple been "MORE".. that lets me know whitlock is an idiot.

carlos

Whitlock is the same tool that thinks Jeff George can still play in the NFL!

Since when does it make sound sense to listen to anyone that appears on a show by some Flaming Nobody by the name of Hor-hay Sedano?...
Whitlocks comments hold about as much weight with me as the little Spanish Fruit Topping that hosted him!

...Not worth a listen!!!

Whitlock is lying about Temple's budget!

Seeing as most of his hack articles revolve around race, I would venture to guess that the firing of an inept black coach for the hiring of a promising white coach was a bit of motivation for bashing Golden.
