MEF Americas announces Battle of the Start-Ups winner: GENWI

MEF, a global community for mobile content and commerce, announced GENWI as the winner of its inaugural MEF Americas Award for Mobile Innovation, which was presented during the MEF Americas conference in Miami Beach this week. Unfortunately, I was not able to make the event but I would like to pass on the organization's press release on the winner.

According to MEF, GENWI impressed the judges with its revolutionary cloud-based mobile Content Management System, which gives content publishers the tools and flexibility to create live and engaging native and HTML5 apps to reach consumers across a range or wireless touch points.   GENWI mCMS currently powers over 1,500 apps for brands including Conde Nast, IndiaTimes, Moguldom Media, Forbes, and The Hollywood Reporter.

The inaugural MEF Americas 2012 Award for Mobile Innovation, in association with Red Herring, saw the shortlisted start-ups pitch their products and services in a live final called  Battle of the Start-Ups as part of the 3rd annual event taking place  in Miami.

GENWI will receive a full year’s membership to MEF enabling the start-up to accelerate its growth through the global member community. The Mobile Innovation Award is part of a new series of innovation awards for MEF, the first of which took place in London in September as part of the annual Meffys, the global awards for mobile content and commerce.

The finalists, which include some South Florida companies, are:
