CoFoundersLab sees ripe startup scene in Miami, holding meetup Feb. 6

    Scotty headshot (1)
Scott Goodman, founder and president of YourListen.com and pictured at left, knows firsthand how tough it is to find partners for a new business. When he searched for his original business partner in 2007, there were no specialized sites or places to go. That’s why this South Florida entrepreneur is working with CoFoundersLab.com to bring its first free meetup to Miami early next month.

LogoCoFoundersLab, which launched in Nov. 2011, is sort of an eharmony for entrepreneurs. The free social network helps match up founders, developers, marketers and others  looking to form partnerships and has pages and pages of postings by South Florida entrepreneurs “looking to join a startup” or “seeking someone to join me.” CoFoundersLab also helps organize free local meetups to bring together entrepreneurs in person. The Washington, DC-based group has already brought events to 20 cities nationwide, including recent ones in Santa Monica and Chicago. Goodman is the volunteer local organizer for the Miami event.

The details: The free CofoundersLab event will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 6  at Incubate Miamii, 200 SE 1st St. in downtown Miami. Registration and details are here: http://www.meetup.com/Co-Founders-Wanted-of-Miami/

This will be the first CofoundersLab event in Miami, even in Florida, but Goodman says the organization often continues to bring events quarterly or even monthly if the interest is there.  “I know how much help events like these can be for entrepreneurs and programmers looking for a partner as I myself had a tough time finding a tech partner when I launched my site,” says Goodman.
