The eight companies competing in SuperConf's Startup Blastoff were judged on everthing from the pitch to the technological achievements to the market viability of the company. Judges pelted the startups with questions about business models, their competition and the technology and offered healthy doses of feedback. Each of the eight companies was also offered 15 minutes with a local VC, organizer Auston Bunsen said.
SuperConf Blastoff winners are:
Vinylfy, pitched by Jose Pimienta. Vinylfy helps record collectors keep track of their collection, discover new exciting ones and share with others online. Pimienta and his team, which includes Osniel Gonzalez, launched just last week. Judges liked the concept for this niche business, but were especially struck by his passion.
